Why I created StoryPower PR

Stories hold the power to move us and inspire change.

Told well to the right audience, stories about health and science can shape policy and literally save lives.

That’s why I’m passionate about working with doctors and researchers to get them the attention their work deserves.

I’ve placed hundreds of medical and science stories in top-tier news outlets like the New York Times, Washington Post, Wall Street Journal, Los Angeles Times, NPR, People, ABC News, CBS News, CNN, NBC News, Time and USA Today.

I’ve also landed interviews for my clients in Spanish-language media, professional trades and podcasts, then repurposed these stories into social media posts that spotlight their achievements.

My clients credit my campaigns for validating their work and building their national reputations. Together we’ve partnered on strategic initiatives that helped them attract new patients, drive clinical revenue, seal multimillion-dollar donations and boost research funding.

Let’s work together to unleash the power in your story.

My story

Growing up, I was the quiet kid who buried her nose in a book and dreamed of becoming a novelist.

When I started writing my own stories, people paid attention.

Suddenly, I had a voice. My words held influence.

As a PR professional, I bring that same love of characters, drama and satisfying finales to craft news pitches that cut through the crowded media landscape and deliver results for my clients.

When I’m not pitching stories, I’m writing my own. I’ve created and edited countless pieces of content for websites, internal newsrooms, press kits, newsletters and social media channels.

During my career, I’ve had the opportunity to work with the White House, Nobel Laureates, Pulitzer Prize winners, the L.A. Dodgers, National Football League, global non-profits, famed athletes and countless celebrities.

At the end of the day, though, it’s the stories of doctors and scientists making a difference in people’s lives that fire me up.

Everyone has a story. Let’s make yours come alive.

Why choose StoryPower?

After 25+ years at UCLA Health, I’m well-versed in most medical specialties.

Doctors and researchers are my people. We speak the same language, enabling me to quickly understand your goals and develop strategic solutions.

Explaining the significance of scientific studies in fresh ways that appeal to the media and public never fails to give me a thrill.

My empathy allows me to connect easily with patients, encouraging them to entrust me with their personal stories.

Deeply curious, I’m intrigued by the human side of medicine and genuinely love what I do.

My professional peers do, too.

My work has consistently earned awards from the Public Relations Society of America, American Association of Medical Colleges, International College of Dentists and Smart PR’s “Best Pitch of the Year” competition.

Muckrack showcased my work as a best practice in its webinar and e-book on media follow-up, and global PR coach Michael Smart used my successful story pitch to People to promote his Inner Circle program.
